What is a Phrasal Verb?

It is a VERB that comes from a combination of a verb and a preposition to form new a VERB whose meaning is different from the meaning of the two words individually.

e.g.

What is the definition of break?

What is the definition of down?

What is the definition of break down?

break down

get upset

The woman broke down when the police told her that her son was involved in an accident.
